The silent beauty...
I think that there are few pleasures
as grand as drifting slowly over the earth in an open basket.
It's romantic, it's breathtaking, it's a journey you will never
forget. It's a world filled with beauty, excitement and adventure.
A balloon ride is a thrill that is indescribable. The silent
beauty of floating hundreds of feet over the beautiful Sacred
Valley, watching the wonderful hills covered with snow, the cultivated
fields, the Vilcanota River.
-- Jeff Hall, pilot
Your adventure will begin by watching
the crew unload, assemble and do a complete safety inspection
of the balloon. Meanwhile, as the "gentle giant" comes
to life, your pilot Jeff Hall, who is a FAA (USA) and DGCA (Perú)
licensed, will give you a quick safety briefing while you are
drinking a hot beverage, tell you what to expect on your adventure
and answer any of your questions. Next, you will board the traditional
hand-crafted, wicker basket. Your flight, then starts -- not
by the basket going up -- but by the ground slowly slipping away,
as you escape the confines of earth's gravity.

In the air, as you are floating, your
pilot will explain the secrets of man's first flight, and will
identify points of interest. You will enjoy a breathtaking view
of the Sacred Valley's landscapes and send greetings to earthbound
folks below. We carry with us a satellite phone for your safety.
While you are aloft, your dependable ground crew, constantly
tracks your flight and is in radio communication with the pilot.
Your flight will last approximately
one hour, depending on weather, direction of flight and available
landing sites. Upon landing, the ground crew will be there, waiting
to catch you, but your adventure is not over. With glasses held
high, your pilot together with ground crew will thank "Pachamama"
(Mother Earth) and the "Apus" (mountain spirits), and
will initiate you into the Andes with a traditional champagne
ceremony in Quechua, the Inca language. Afterward, we go to Urubamba
in our 4-wheel drive for a energy-giving breakfast in a pleasant
restaurant, then return you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley
or the city of Cuzco.
